This legendary concert of Luciano Pavarotti in Hyde Park,1991, was held to mark the 30th anniversary of the start of Pavarotti’s operatic career. The Guardian wrote that there had not been “such a brouhaha for a free concert” since the concert given by The Rolling Stones in 1969. Attended by 120.000 fans, including Lady Diana, Prince Charles, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Michael Caine and premier John Major, Luciano Pavarotti thrilled the electrified audience with a popular program from Verdi to Puccini (Nessun Dorma), from Mascagni and Leoncavallo to Bixio (Mamma) and Di Capua (‘O sole mio), which is now available for the first time available on Blu-ray, digitally remastered!
Festive Advent Concert at the Frauenkirche Dresden 2014

Grafenegg: Midsummer Night’s Gala 2025
The Midsummer Night’s Gala heralds the start of the summer festival season every year, captivating the audience and celebrating the summer against the idyllic backdrop of the extensive castle grounds. On the Wolkenturm stage, chief conductor Fabien Gabel joins star pianist and festival director Rudolf Buchbinder for their first collaboration at Grafenegg. Buchbinder, intimately familiar with the venue, performs a movement from Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor. South African mezzo-soprano Siphokazi Molteno makes her festival debut, alongside American tenor Michael Spyres, recently named Best International Opera Singer at the Oper! Awards. The programme offers a vibrant mix of opera arias, overtures, and orchestral works, featuring Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Puccini’s Turandot, and a spotlight on French and Spanish music.
Grafenegg: Midsummer Night’s Gala 2017
It is the season’s sparkling highlight: the Midsummer Night’s Gala at the Wolkenturm with international stars in the open air! 2017 sees Russian vocalists Aida Garifullina and Dmitri Hvorostovsky adding Grafenegg to the roll-call of leading operatic venues around the world where their great voices have been heard. The young soprano Garifullina is in the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera and baritone Hvorostovsky sang at the Red Square concert in Moscow in 2013.
Grafenegg: Midsummer Night’s Gala 2019
Stars by starlight in the traditional Midsummer Night’s Gala! The 2019 season at Grafenegg opens with voices and violin: Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva, French baritone Ludovic Tézier and Austrian violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian are accompanied by the Tonkunstler Orchestra in the romantic setting of the castle grounds. Yutaka Sado conducts a programme of arias and duets, with a firework display set to «Pomp and Circumstance».
Andris Nelsons – Boston Symphony: Inaugural Concert
This event celebrates the start of Andris Nelsons’ tenure as the 15th music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and features two of the conductor’s close colleagues, the acclaimed Latvian soprano Kristine Opolais and the outstanding German tenor Jonas Kaufmann. Singing’s selections from the Wagnerian and the Italian verismo repertoires, they join forces for a powerful duet from Puccini’s Manon Lescaut. The concert opens with Wagner’s Tannhäuser Overture – the work that first inspired a five year old Nelsons to a life in music – and closes with Respighi’s spectacular orchestral showcases “Pines of Rome”.
Christmas in Versailles – Sonya Yoncheva
Sonya Yoncheva is the star of this Christmas concert at the Royal Chapel of the Palace of Versailles. Accompanied by the Choir and Orchestra of the Opéra Royal of Versailles under the baton of Stefan Plewniak, Sonya Yoncheva performs popular carols from around the world. Works by Handel, Gounod, Puccini, Mascagni, Berlin, Adam and Mohr – can be heard while enjoying stunning footage of the various magnificent halls and gardens of the Palace of Versailles, with exclusive access granted to the Bulgarian opera diva.
Elina Garanca Recital
The new season of the Opernhaus Zürich opened with an extraordinary recital. The celebrated mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca and the new artistic director Matthias Schulz transported the audience into a world of songs and arias with works by Saint-Saëns, Berlioz, Brahms, Schumann, and other romantic and late romantic composers. The centerpiece of the evening was the aria “Mon cœur s’ouvre à ta voix” from Saint-Saëns’ opera “Samson et Dalila,” which Garanca, as “Dalila,” knows to masterfully and emotionally interpret on the world’s greatest operatic stages and with full orchestras. Matthias Schulz’s sensitive piano accompaniment left nothing to be desired in terms of this emotionality and artistry. The two musicians have a longstanding musical collaboration, and their recitals delight European audiences.
