It is now a well-established tradition: every year, on July 14, the Orchestre National de France welcomes the summer with a large musical gathering at the foot of the Eiffel Tower with stunning fireworks. Conducted by Simone Young, and accompanied by the Chorus of Radio France, the orchestra invites the audience around the world, to experience great arias and famous concert pieces in the company of prestigious soloists like Pretty Yende, Piotr Beczala, Renaud Capuçon, Ksenija Sidorova, Clementine Margaine, and Ibrahim Maalouf!
Pavarotti: Live in Central Park
When more than 500,000 people gathered in New York’s Central Park on 26 June 1993, they wanted to hear only one thing: The voice of the greatest tenor of the twentieth century: the voice of Luciano Pavarotti. A year earlier, Pavarotti had thrilled the crowds in London’s Hyde Park – here, in New York, he confirmed once again that he is an undisputed world star. He is accompanied by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under Leone Magiera. The recording of this concert, without doubt one of Pavarotti’s most celebrated performances, achieved record sales. Pavarotti in Hyde Park
It was billed as „Pavarotti in the Park,“ but Luciano Pavarotti‘s 30th-anniversary concert in Hyde Park this evening could just as well have been called „Pavarotti in the Deluge.“ The Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duchess of York, Prime Minister John Major and his wife, Norma, the composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, the actor Michael Caine and a crowd estimated at 125,000 turned out despite an incessant downpour to hear the 55-year-old Italian tenor sing a selection of his favorite arias to observe 30 years of a sterling career. He was accompanied by the 82-member Philharmonia Orchestra and the 120-voice Philharmonia Chorus.

At the beautiful Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens, Rolando Villazón partners with star French harpist Xavier de Maistre for a concert of intimate arrangements of Latin American songs for tenor and harp. Latin American song-writing, where indigenous, European and African cultures meet, offers a tantalising collage of sounds, rhythm, melody and narrative.
Jonas Kaufmann – It’s Christmas
Jonas Kaufmann echoes his own Christmas memories and joys, celebrating the most festive time of the year with a unique selection of beloved songs and carols. The concert is shot at the Silent Night Chapel in Oberndorf near Salzburg, the original place where the Christmas carol Silent Night, by Joseph Mohr and Franz Xaver Gruber, was performed for the first time on December 24th 1818. In addition, festive location shots at the Christmas market in Salzburg. Including a rich selection of beloved worldwide favorites such as Adeste fidelis / O come and Silent Night, American holiday favorites like Let It Snow! Let It Snow! As concert halls are silent and theatres dark during the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic, bringing performers and audiences together demands creative solutions. C Major Entertainment, in collaboration with Arte Concert and DG, is set to launch a series of professional live relays of concerts given by artists at Berlin’s legendary Meistersaal. The programmes focus on solo or duo works. This approach limit the number of artists, technicians and backstage staff involved, in compliance with government regulations, while drawing on the endlessly rich repertoire of chamber pieces past and present. Using remote cameras, members of the audio and video crew are safely dispersed in different rooms. The sixth episode featuring Berlin-based Korean soprano Hera Hyesang Park and pianist Sarah Tysman.

The 3 Tenors in Concert 1994
The legendary tenors José Carreras, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti, together with conductor Zubin Mehta, celebrated the finale to soccer’s 1994 World Cup with a live concert described as “probably the biggest single musical event in history”. Brought together for the 1990 World Cup in Italy, The 3 Tenors and Mehta joined forces again, this time in Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium on July 16th 1994 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Music Center Opera Chorus, to perform a selection of operatic arias and international favourites specially orchestrated by composer/arranger Lalo Schifrin. The result is an outstanding film, reflecting a unique event, featuring three legendary performers who share a united passion for opera and football.
