The Puppini Sisters – featuring Marcella Puppini, Kate Mullins, and Stephanie O’Brien – led the British retro wave in 2006 with their 1940’s – influenced blend of pop with swing, a gorgeous sense of glamour, and fun. Their debut record, “Betcha Bottom Dollar”, was the fastest selling jazz debut in Britain on its release, also debuting at number 2 on the US jazz charts and in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. At AVO Session they perform amongst others songs from their second album “The Rise & Fall Of Ruby Woo”.
Hubert von Goisern plays AVO Session
Austrian folk music mixed with rock’n roll: that makes the unique style of the Austrian singer/songwriter Hubert von Goisern. In the autumn of 2005, Hubert von Goisern presented his grandest project yet: the Linz Europe Tour 2007-2009. He travels along the waterways of Europe for three years on a specially adapted cargo ship, complete with a stage. A festival in the form of a large-scale concert event lasting several days and bringing together the artists of the Linz Europe Tour will be held to mark this occasion in the European Capital of Culture.
Patricia Kaas plays AVO Session
Patricia Kaas is one of the most successful French-speaking singers in the world. Stylistically her music is not classical chanson, but is closer to a mixture of pop music, jazz and chanson. Since the appearance of her debut album Mademoiselle chante… in 1988 Kaas has sold more than 17 million records worldwide. Kaas is almost constantly on tour internationally. In 2002 Kaas had her film debut in And now… Ladies and Gentlemen beside Jeremy Irons.
Bombay Bicycle Club at Hurricane Festival
On February 24th 2010 Bombay Bicycle Club won the Best New Band award at the NME Awards up against nominees such as The xx, The Big Pink, La Roux, The Olivers and Mumford & Sons; just before their release of Flaws which debuted No. 8 on the UK Album Charts. In 2011 the band released their third studio album A Different Kind Of Fix which charted No. 6 in the UK. Only one year later Bombay Bicycle Club was among the bands chosen to perform at the BT London Live concert in Hyde Park, which marked the end of the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Up to this date the band has toured worldwide as a headlining act, playing North America, Australia, Europe and the Far East. Their studio album “So Long See You Tomorrow” (2014) topped the UK album charts and the US Top Heatseekers.
The Wombats at Hurricane Festival 2014
Having entered the charts at No. 3 with ‘This Modern Glitch’ (2011) The Wombats subsequently became one of the stand-out names on summer festival circuits with headline sets at Lovebox and Wakestock as well as other major events including Glastonbury, V, Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Rockness. Apocalyptica have played over 1,000 concerts in more than 50 countries, released 7 studio albums and worked with renowned artists like Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Ville Valo (HIM), and Till Lindemann (Rammstein).The university graduate musicians started to blend rock and metal with classical music in the early nineties, celebrating worldwide success and until today. The collaboration with the Finnish “Avanti! Orchestra” is a long-cherished project. The set will solely consist of instrumentally performed Apocalyptica songs, especially arranged for the band and the 25-piece orchestra.

Steel Panther is mostly known for their profane and humorous lyrics as well as their exaggerated on-stage personae that parody the stereotypical view of lifestyle in the 1980s. With their major record label debut Feel the Steel they hit the international charts. With their sophomore Balls Out Steel Panther continued their revival of the 80’s heavy metal genre and debuted at No. 1 on the UK iTunes Rock chart surpassing Megadeth’s TH1RT3EN and Lou Reed’s and Metallica’s Lulu.
TSO & Savatage at Wacken Open Air 2015
In 1986, introduced to each other by executives at Atlantic Records, two special men met for the very first time. The actually unlikely pair hit it off and, from then on, formed a team that would eventually write and release album classics like „Hall Of The Mountain King“, „Streets“, and „Dead Winter Dead“. The constant strive to push the boundaries of rock and metal evolved into the formation of the band Savatage, that soon was considered to be the world‘s first progressive metal band. Beyond that, it was the duo‘s vision, to raise the dynamics of progressive rock to a new level. By taking the best from the two worlds of rock and classical music and putting it together with multiple singers they were able to act without any musical limits – Trans-Siberian Orchestra was born. The two said men, Paul O‘Neill and Jon Oliva together on one stage – and here in Wacken, they will show us their past, their present and their future. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is performing live on stage at Wacken 2015, followed immediately by a Savatage reunion gig, that also marks their first live perfor¬mance in over a decade. Furthermore, these is the only live appearances of both bands in Europe in 2015!
