Performances of Mahler’s Eighth Symphony are not so common, especially on the anniversary of Mahler’s death. Led by their Chief Conductor Designate Klaus Mäkelä, Mahler’s ‘Symphony of a Thousand’ was the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra’s final contribution to the Concertgebouw’s Mahler Festival 2025. With four choirs—the Dutch National Radio Choir, the Laurens Symfonisch, Le Chœur de l’Orchestre de Paris, and the Dutch National Children’s Choir— this huge choral ensemble demonstrated immense energy and power. Le Concert de Paris 2025
It is now a well-established tradition: every year, on July 14, the Orchestre National de France welcomes the summer with a large musical gathering at the foot of the Eiffel Tower with stunning fireworks! Conducted by Cristian Macelaru, and accompanied by the Chorus of Radio France, the orchestra invites the audience around the world and thousands of people on the spot, to experience great arias and famous concert pieces. For this year‘s Brazilian edition of the Concert de Paris, we welcome the singer Bruno de Sá, whose unique soprano voice now crosses borders, as well as artists such as Bomsori, Benjamin Bernheim, Julie Fuchs, Aida Garifullina, Gautier Capucon and Dom La Nena.

In June 2010, André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra performed a captivating open-air concert on the picturesque island of Mainau, nestled in Lake Constance. Set against the backdrop of the baroque castle owned by the Bernadotte family, the event, titled Roses from the South, showcased a delightful blend of classical waltzes, operetta favorites, and timeless melodies. The concert was recorded for a television special and reached an estimated 80 million viewers worldwide.
Lang Lang in Paris
“Hats off, gentlemen, a genius!” Schumann’s famous words heralding Frédéric Chopin have gone down in history, and the two composers jointly launched a revolution in piano music in the early Romantic era. And works by both men are at the centre of Lang Lang’s recital from the Philharmonie de Paris: Schumann’s fantastical Kreisleriana, and mazurkas and a polonaise by Chopin, in which he distilled the spirit of Poland into music at once haunting, deeply moving and – in the case of the Polonaise – thrillingly rousing. Opening with the original piano version of Fauré’s beautiful Pavane, this programme promises to be a superb showcase of Lang Lang’s passion, virtuosity and sensitivity.
