The Armed Man – Concert for Peace

The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Welsh composer Sir Karl Jenkins is the most performed work by any living composer. This performance is the largest ever staged and was uniquely performed in synchronisation with a specially commissioned war-archive film reinforcing the narrative of the work – the build up to war, war itself and the consequences of war. Projected on to five giant screens, the film delivers a poignant backdrop to the moving musical narration providing the audience with a powerful and emotional multimedia experience. In this truly unique historic occasion Sir Karl Jenkins conducts The World Orchestra for Peace and around 2,000 singers from nearly 30 countries who joined together to Sing for Peace in Berlin.

Veronica Fusaro plays Baloise Session

In 2016 Veronica Fusaro released her self-produced EP “Lost In Thought” and surprised the Swiss music industry by winning the “Demo of the Year” at the M4Music-Festival. She was then awarded “Best Talent” by the national radio station SRF3 and was nominated for the Swiss Music Awards 2017. She then presented her music at various Swiss festivals (Gurtenfestival, Moon&Stars, Rock Oz’Arènes etc.) and performed at international conferences such as Musexpo in Los Angeles, ILMC in London and Reeperbahn Festival Hamburg.

We bring acclaimed and particularly appealing wordsmiths to the BALOISE SESSION stage: superstars who rap in dialect. Lo & Leduc from Bern are purveyors of intelligent, astute and absurd texts. Their beats are wittily peppered with funk and jazz. In the 2015 Swiss Music Awards, Lo & Leduc were the performers with the most nominations (Best Group, Best Live Act and Best Talent). They won the award in all three categories, the second group to get all three in one year.

Harper is a three-time Grammy Award winner, with awards for Best Pop Instrumental Performance and Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album and Best Blues Album.
