Parov Stelar is the pseudonym of the Austrian music producer, DJ and artist Marcus Füreder, who is considered one of the founders of electro swing. With his unique style, which combines elements of swing, jazz, house and electronic music, he has made a name for himself worldwide – both in clubs and on major festival stages. Since the early 2000s, Parov Stelar has been producing danceable tracks with a vintage flair and modern beats. His music is particularly known for its catchy brass riffs, driving rhythms and cinematic atmosphere . His biggest and best-known hits include: Booty Swing – a worldwide club hit that perfectly represents his signature electro-swing style. Pegasus is a Swiss band from Biel/Bienne. Pegasus are one of the most successful pop bands in Switzerland. The band has already won several platinum and gold awards as well as three Swiss Music Awards and achieved numerous single hits and a one-and-a-half-year chart placement with the album Love & Gunfire. Pegasus has played live at major festivals and tours in Switzerland and as the support act for Hurts on their European tour as well as at festivals and club shows in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Dabu Fantastic play Baloise Session
“Ciao Baby, Ciao” is the name of Dabu Fantastic’s latest album, a powerful manifesto of personal transformations and an honest appeal for self-reflection. The band, known for their intelligent pop with a pinch of homeland, sparkles with joie de vivre and opens a fresh artistic chapter. But where does the story of Dabu Fantastic begin? Probably much earlier, but with the release of the album “Hallo Hund” in 2014, the lives of the two band founders Dabu Bucher and DJ Arts changed abruptly. They achieved their big breakthrough virtually overnight. Two years later, Dabu Fantastic reached the top of the Swiss charts with the hit “Angelina” and the accompanying album “Drinks” and finally made it to the front row of dialect bands. Despite anthems such as “Frisch Usem Ei” and “Jagge”, they were unable to maintain this commercial level with their follow-up “Schlaf Us”.

Messa da Requiem
In honour of Italian poet and writer Alessandro Manzoni, Maestro Riccardo Frizza conducts this special performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem in the grand, historic cathedral of Milan with the Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Choir of Milan. Verdi composed his masterpiece of sacred music in 1874 to pay homage to Manzoni on the first anniversary of his death. In this celebration of two greats of Italian culture and history, the orchestra was joined by a vocal cast composed of Serena Farnocchia, soprano, Anna Maria Chiuri, mezzo-soprano, Luciano Ganci, tenor, and Luiz-Ottavio Faria, bass. “This work is so great because it is the affirmation of the personal feelings that a human being faces during mourning, which comes to us through the anguish, pain, and hope that the strength of Verdi’s music expresses.” Maestro Frizza said in an interview with Gramiliano.

Klavier-Festival Ruhr presents Hélène Grimaud and Konstantin Krimmel. The young baritone, a member of the ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera, is pursuing a stellar career and developing into one of the most important Lied singers of our time. Hélène Grimaud has been performing the music of the Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov for many years, and the audience of the Ruhr Piano Festival is also familiar with his music. His Silent Songs are music that he composed to poems with powerful images. Grimaud and Krimmel’s interpretation from Konzerthaus Dortmund gets under your skin, especially when paired with the Songs op. 32 by Johannes Brahms. Alvaro Soler plays Baloise Session
Alvaro Soler is back with new music. In June, the single “Te Imaginaba” (Eng. “I have imagined you”). The song reflects the shared journey with a loved one. Combined with the music, the result is a hopeful and euphoric representation of how it feels to have found “the one”, declaring love to his recently born daughter.
At the Baloise Session, he will also perform a Spanish mix of pop, rock and reggae reggae of his greatest hits.
Norah Jones plays Baloise Session
Norah Jones has attained global celebrity status since 2002 when her very first album, Come Away with Me, was released. This record made her earning six Grammy Award, including album of the year and both record of the year and song of the year (“Don’t Know Why”). 2004’s Feels like Home was Jones’ second album, and it was an instant hit, debuting at number one on the Billboard album chart and selling over a million copies in the first week. In 2007 she dropped her third album, Not Too Late, and stepped into the acting world for the first time, appearing in Wong Kar-Wai’s My Blueberry Nights; the movie debuted at the Cannes film festival. Later, Jones explored a wider musical range with The Fall (2009) and Little Broken Hearts (2012), featuring sombre electric instrumentation with elements of rock and soul. She returned to the jazz-inflected sound of her debut album for Day Breaks (2016). Her later recordings included the EP Begin Again (2019) and her seventh studio album, Pick Me Up Off the Floor (2020). In addition to her songwriting, she was rewarded with two Grammy Awards for her collaboration with Ray Charles on “Here We Go Again” for his last album, Genius Loves Company (2004). The “German Requiem” made Johannes Brahms one of the most famous composers of his time. He himself later said of his work, “I have now found consolation.” Under the direction of Gianandrea Noseda, who presented himself with this extraordinary concert as the new General Music Director of the Zurich Opera House, the choir and orchestra performed in an empty hall – the orchestra on the stage, the choir facing it in the parquet and the tiers of the auditorium. Distanced, yet united in consolation. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
