Pegasus play Baloise Session

The four neighbourhood boys started by jamming together at local festivals, first covering Beatles and Stones classics until they started to write their very own songs, quickly finding that they had great compositional talent. They have thrilled live audiences at major festivals with their melodious, powerful and emotionally charged pop anthems. Irrespective of their great chart successes, they have retained their independence and have continued to experiment in solo projects. Their performance at the BALOISE SESSION reunites Pegasus and proves that these Biel/Bienne natives are amongst the most innovative pop bands in Switzerland.

Monty Alexander plays Baloise Session – «My Roots to Jazz»

Somewhat further south, but still in the big Creole-Caribbean area, is where pianist Monty Alexander comes from. He grew up in Jamaica and first learned calypso, which is where his unbridled playing, his power and his incredible passion for music must have their roots. At the age of seventeen, he went to the US, played jazz with great virtuosity and was immediately an insider secret. Even the great Frank Sinatra was moved to remark: «Monty is music dynamite!» He always kept his eye on the explosive music developments of ska and reggae in his former home of Jamaica, and in the eighties he began to tour with two rhythm sections: one, a sleek jazz section with bass and drums, the other, rastas with guitars that add Caribbean flair.

Sarah Connor plays Baloise Session

Sarah Connor is a German singer, songwriter, and television personality. Connor debuted in 2001 became the first solo act to ever have four consecutive chart-topping hits on the German Singles Chart. Following success in mainland Europe with her single “From Sarah with Love” and her debut album ^”Green Eyed Soul”, a series of hit records established her position as the most successful German pop female vocalists to emerge in the 2000s with sales in excess of over 15 million copies worldwide. Her first German album “Muttersprache” released on May 22, 2015 debuted on the top of the German and Swiss Albums Chart.

James Arthur is a British singer and songwriter who won the ninth series of the X factor show in Great Britain. His debut single, „Impossible“, was released after the final and debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart in its first week of release. It has since gone on to sell over 1.27 million copies in the UKand 2.5 million copies worldwide.

The name Gruntz stands for powerful innovation and the highest quality, not only for people in the Basel music scene. The fact that the internationally renowned jazz great George Gruntz, who died last year, was the great uncle of the young James Gruntz, does not necessarily make it easier for this newcomer to develop his own identity, however, he has managed just that. After building a solid foundation with his education at the Zurich Jazz School, he has the courage to set himself apart from his family legacy with simple, catchy songs, designing his very own musical world.
