La Bohème

A thrilling journey through time: On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the premiere of the popular Puccini opera, the Teatro Regio Turin is staging a production based on the original. On 1 February 1886, the premiere of Giacomo Puccini's immortal "La Bohème" took place at the Teatro Regio in Turin under the direction of Arturo Toscanini. To mark the 125th anniversary, a new production from the Teatro Regio was presented, entirely in the spirit of the premiere. The staging, set and costumes are based on the famous original sketches made by the set and costume designer Adolf Hohenstein for the premiere in 1886. Maestro Daniel Oren takes over the musical direction, Maria Teresa Leva and Iván Ayón Rivas sing the roles of Mimì and Rodolfo.
